Characteristics of UHPC:Permeability resistance: UHPC has a very low water-to-cement ratio, resulting in a low porosity and non-connected pores, which gives it excellent permeability resistance.

Carbonation resistance: UHPC has outstanding carbonation resistance, mainly due to its dense microstructure and the uniformity achieved by eliminating coarse aggregates.

Freezing resistance: Due to the extremely low water-to-cement ratio of UHPC, the mixing water can almost completely react, leaving little excess water inside the concrete. Additionally, UHPC has a dense and uniform structure with very few and extremely small pores that are mostly non-connected, making it difficult for external water to penetrate. Fatigue resistance: According to relevant studies, UHPC contains no coarse aggregates, has a dense matrix, and incorporates a large amount of steel fibers. When the matrix cracks, the steel fibers can transfer stress and effectively prevent crack propagation, demonstrating a strong ability to redistribute stress and deformation. Overall, the fatigue performance of UHPC is far superior to that of ordinary concrete and steel fiber concrete.
